Many have heard about the famous small palace, erected back in 1913. This magnificent landmark belonged to the Grand Duke Dmitry Konstantinovich Romanov. He was the grandson of Nicholas the First. The palace itself is located on the southern coast of Crimea on a cape, the so-called Ay-Todor. It is worth noting that the prince’s estate is only eight kilometers from Yalta. The prince himself spends time here with his loved ones.

It is important to know that this mighty palace was built by Dmitry Konstantinovich for his nephews. Accordingly, he wanted everyone to come together in a beautiful and secluded place. By 1923, the nationalization of the various palaces was almost complete. Before accepting a huge number of tourists, it was necessary to restore the palace on the South Bank.

After the military invasions, it was necessary to restore the reconstruction of the palaces and at the same time the transport facilities. Therefore, the state allocated special funds for the repair work. After the completion of all reconstruction work, charming flowers and plants bloomed in the Crimea. The southern coast is famous for its orchards, which fascinated the eyes of visitors. This place has often been compared to the Riviera.

Kichkine is the last Romanov palace. This estate is distinguished by its unique structure. It also causes a contradictory impression like this: “Russian merchant dressed up as a Turk.” The Moorish style of the tiny palace with a predominance of small towers and Arabic script will enchant any visitor.

It is this high steep bank that adorns the beautiful palace. It is important to note that the palace was built by a Yalta city architect. For this case, they used the Tarasov project. The western side of Kichkine resembles a mosque. But the southern part of the majestic building looks more like a sailing ship. A beautiful park makes the room more colorful and cozy. The combination of various plants and exotic flowers complements the beauty of the environment. The well-inscribed rocks create a magnificent picture. To descend from the palace to the sea, a special staircase was erected. Due to the fresh and sea air, many tourists visit this delightful place and, accordingly, admire the beauty of the small tower. From the sea side, the palace looks like a stylized boat.

When the revolution took place in this region, the estate served as a tourist base. When the Second Patriotic War took place, the headquarters of Erich von Manstein was located on the estate of Prince Nikolai Konstantinovich. He, in turn, was the commander of the Eleventh German Army. The commander was presented with this palace for his military services. After a while, a hotel was built next to the palace. The hotel was reconstructed only in 2004.

Today, a museum is located on the territory of the South Coast. Hundreds of tourists come from various countries to see the beauty of this attractive estate. To admire the beauty of this wonderful suburb, you must visit the South Coast of Yalta. An incredible atmosphere reigns here, which gives strength and fascinates at first sight.
