Russian ice dancer Victoria Sinitsina

Russian ice dancer Victoria Sinitsina born 29 April 1995, in Moscow. Her father Alexander Sinitsin and aunt Tatiana Sinitsina are former gymnasts. Victoria Sinitsina began skating at age four, at the stadium of the Young Pioneers, at first she was a singles skater. She was introduced to skating by her parents to improve her health – the child had tonsillitis. Since the end of 2004 she performs pair skating with her partner Ruslan Zhiganshin. The ice dancers Victoria Sinitsina and Ruslan Zhiganshin have won bronze medals at the 2013 Winter Universiade, 2012 Rostelecom Cup, and 2014 Russian Championships. They are also the 2012 World Junior champions, 2011 JGP Final champions, and 2012 Russian Junior champions.

The pair Victoria Sinitsina and Ruslan Zhiganshin was coached by Irina Lobacheva and Ilia Averbukh, later by Elena Kustarova and Svetlana Alexeeva. Sinitsina and Zhiganshin debuted on the Junior Grand Prix circuit at the 2008 Merano Cup where they finished sixth. The following JGP season, they placed fifth at both of their events.

In the 2012–13 season, the pair Victoria Sinitsina and Ruslan Zhiganshin debuted on the senior Grand Prix series. After finishing 6th at the 2012 Cup of China, they then won their first senior GP medal, bronze, at the 2012 Rostelecom Cup. The duo finished 5th in their senior national debut at the 2013 Russian Championships.

At the 2014 Russian Championships, the pair Victoria Sinitsina and Ruslan Zhiganshin were 2.41 points behind the silver medalists, Ilinykh/Katsalapov, and 1.61 points ahead of fourth-placed Riazanova/Tkachenko, former national medalists. Appearing in their first senior ISU Championships at the 2014 European Championships, they scored a total of 153.73 points and finished fourth ahead of teammates Riazanova/Tkachenko.

As of January 2014 the pair took 14 th place in the ranking of the International Skating Union (ISU).
